Our take
A sex therapist’s son starts an underground advice clinic at school. The premise is a delivery mechanism for what the show actually is: an unusually generous ensemble comedy about teenagers working out what they want, in a school that exists in no identifiable time or country.
Eric — Black, Nigerian, Christian, gay and entirely uninterested in shrinking — is one of the best characters on television, and his relationship with Adam does something rare in giving the bully a real interior life without letting him off. The show is also excellent on asexuality, on abortion, and on Aimee. Four seasons; the last is the weakest.
