Our take

Two men meet in a Nottingham club on a Friday and part on a Sunday. That is the entire plot. Andrew Haigh fills it with the specific conversation queer people have when they are working out how much of themselves to show — one is out and political about it, one is not, and both positions get taken seriously.

It is shot small, largely in one flat, and it is more emotionally exact than films with fifty times the budget. If you have ever had a weekend that rearranged you, this is the one that knows.
